The owners, Dennis and Terri Courtad of Bucyrus, OH,
added additional
land to provide hunters over 400
acres of excellent Ohio hunting habitat
for pheasant,
hungarian partridge, chukar partridge, and
other
birds. Other birds, available by request, require
additional
time to prepare for the hunt. The land
is separated into multiple Ohio hunting areas so different groups
can be
hunting
at the same time, each having their own hunt.
For your convenience,
individual or
corporateprepaid bird cards
are available. Take careful note of the way these prepaid cards work.
Elk Ridge offers guided hunts or
you can bring
your own dogs. With guided hunts a guide and dogs are furnished to
ensure you have a quality hunt every time. Hunts last from two and a
half to four hours depending on how long they wish to hunt and how
well they shoot.
After the shoot, hunters can relax and unwind in a
comfortable, large clubhouse. Other amenities offered are a light
lunch and bird cleaning.
For the younger hunter, Elk Ridge annually
sponsors the Crawford County Pheasants Forever
Youth Pheasant Hunt.
All the birds and lunch are provided by Elk Ridge, with volunteer
guides donating their time and dogs. Before each hunt, a
description of Pheasants Forever and a safety class is given. This is
a great experience for first-time pheasant hunters and an enjoyable
day for everyone involved.
